Eric and Wendy met through a dating app in 2017. Eric was curious about Wendy because her profile mentioned Hot Pockets for some reason, was surrounded by friends in her pictures, and she had a wonderful, sometimes mischievous, smile. Wendy was interested in Eric because he had on a Gryffindor scarf in one picture and had a very nice, friendly smile. Turns out, Wendy’s profile was put together by two friends (Jing, her maid-of-honor, and Tracy, Brett’s wife) one night when she was visiting them in San Francisco, and Eric’s scarf was actually a USC scarf.

 

However some first impressions held true - Wendy thought Eric was smart and nerdy and Eric thought Wendy was incisive, engaging, and wore a lot of black. Over time, they have learned and grown through a long distance relationship after Eric had to leave California for medical training, two moves, a house, and a cat. They continue to surprise each other and despite the surprises, or perhaps because of them, they continue to love and appreciate each other even more.
